Domenicali: "Betrouwbaarheid is onze grootste zorg"

De nieuwe Ferrari F60 is snel genoeg, maar het team is nog onzeker of de bolide betrouwbaar genoeg is. Die constatering is ook aangekomen bij teambaas Stefano Domenicali. De Italiaan was in Barcelona om het team tijdens de testweek aan het werk te zien. Volgens hem heeft het verbeteren van de betrouwbaarheid momenteel topprioriteit.

De afgelopen dagen heb ik een vastberaden en hardwerkend Ferrari-team gezien, zegt Domenicali. De meest recente test laten zien dat Ferrari meer problemen heeft gekend dan andere teams en dat is ook de Ferrari-teambaas niet ontgaan. Voor wat betreft de prestaties zijn we tot nu toe tevreden. Het is duidelijk dat we nog wel wat werk moeten doen, vooral op het gebied van de betrouwbaarheid.

Domenicali wilde zich niet wagen aan voorspellingen over de prestaties van de andere teams tot nu toe. Wel was hij het met zijn coureur Felipe Massa eens dat Brawn GP in goede vorm lijkt te steken. Ik wil geen vragen ontwijken, maar momenteel kan ik nog niks zinnigs zeggen over de verhoudingen tussen de teams. De prestaties van Brawn GP zijn echter verbazingwekkend goed en we zullen ze goed in de gaten moeten houden.
