Felipe Massa: "Brawn GP wordt kampioen"

Ferrari-coureur Felipe Massa is niet van plan om de handdoek in de ring te gooien, maar in de ogen van de Braziliaan staat de kampioen van 2009 al vast. Brawn GP gaat de titel voor zich opeisen. Massa: Ik ben niet iemand die opgeeft, ik vecht tot de laatste meter. Maar mijn ervaring zegt me dat Brawn GP kampioen wordt.

De vice-kampioen van vorig jaar vervolgt: Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat ze hun voorsprong nog gaan verspelen. Wat mij betreft is de titelstrijd al over. Misschien dat Red Bull Racing nog wat terug kan doen, maar wij liggen te ver achter. Dat betekent niet dat we niet meer gaan vechten voor raceoverwinningen. Ik ga proberen zoveel mogelijke races op mijn naam te schrijven. Mathematisch is het nog wel mogelijk, maar het wordt heel moeilijk.

Ik kan me niet indenken dat Brawn GP ergens geen punten gaat scoren. Ze hebben een zeer competitieve en betrouwbare auto, dus zelfs als wij winnen, dan nog zullen zij in de punten eindigen en niet te veel toegeven. We gaan hoe dan ook alles geven om zoveel mogelijk Grands Prix te winnen en dan zien we wel waar het schip strandt.
