Alonso aast op podiumplekken met verbeterde Renault

Renault-coureur Fernando Alonso denkt dat het mogelijk is om in de resterende acht races minstens voor podiumplekken mee te doen. De Spanjaard haalt zijn optimisme uit de verbeterde R29. Een herhaling van vorig jaar, met twee zeges in de tweede seizoenshelft, lijkt echter te hoog gegrepen.

Alonso vertrouwde de Spaanse radiozender Cadena SER toe: De auto voelt een stuk beter en vanaf nu kunnen we voor podiumplekken strijden. Dat is ook het doel. Twee weken geleden dacht niemand dat we de Brawn GP-autos lastig zouden vallen en de snelste raceronde zouden rijden. Hopelijk komen we ook nog in de buurt van een overwinning, maar dat wordt moeilijk gezien de sterkte van Brawn GP en Red Bull Racing.
