Alonso: "Belangrijk om in Hongarije ver van voren te starten"

Fernando Alonso en zijn team Renault zien het weer helemaal zitten. In Duitsland zette de Franse renstal met een upgrade een stap voorwaarts, wat resulteerde in de snelste raceronde voor Alonso. De Spanjaard kijkt optimistisch naar de rest van het seizoen.

Te beginnen komend weekend op de Hungaroring, een lastig circuit. Alonso: Toen ik in Duitsland vrij baan had, ging de auto echt zeer snel en reed ik elf ronden lang de snelste raceronden. De potentie was aanwezig om op het podium te eindigen.

We hebben ons zonder twijfel verbeterd en we zijn meer competitief. Op de Hungaroring is inhalen bijna onmogelijk, alleen in bocht 1 heb je een kans. Het is dus belangrijk dat we tijdens de kwalificatie maximaal presteren en dik in de top tien starten.
