Massa inmiddels bij kennis en herstelt voorspoedig

Doktoren van het AEK-ziekenhuis in Hongarije waar Felipe Massa wordt behandelt, hebben maandagavond tijdens een persconferentie verklaard dat de Braziliaan uit zijn kunstmatige coma is gekomen en inmiddels bij kennis is. Massa is goed op weg met zijn herstel, welk voorspoedig verloopt.

"De afgelopen 24 uur hebben we een aantal grote veranderingen gezien in de conditie van Felipe Massa. Zijn conditie blijft momenteel stabiel. Tijdens de CT-scan die is uitgevoerd, hebben we vast kunnen stellen dat zijn conditie zelfs is verbeterd. We hebben de kunstmatige coma gestopt nadat Felipe in staat was om contact met ons te maken", zo vertelde Dr. Lajos Zsiros.

"In de middag hebben we deze kunstmatige coma gestopt, en op het moment dat we praten is Massa aan het bijkomen en vooral erg slaperig. Hij kan goed onze vragen beantwoorden en kan uit zichzelf zijn armen en benen bewegen. Hij heeft op dit moment geen koorts en we hebben tevens de afvoerbuis uit zijn wond verwijderd."

Zsiros ontkent eerdere berichten dat Massa verwondingen aan zijn ogen heeft opgelopen: "Het is veelste vroeg om die vraag nu te kunnen beantwoorden. We kunnen positief noch negatief hierop antwoorden omdat we op dit moment zijn ogen en zicht niet kunnen uittesten."

Op de vraag of ze kunnen vertellen of Massa blijvend letsel over zal houden aan zijn verwondingen kon de arts nog weinig vertellen: "Daar valt nu weinig over te melden. We hebben geen tijdsdruk hierop gelegd, al denk ik dat we binnen een week tot tien dagen hier meer uitsluitsel over kunnen geven."

Ik hoop voor hem dat het meevalt, en dat hij volgend seizoen gewoon kan rijden.

  It is... het is een mogelijkheid maar er is absoluut nog NIETS zeker. Waarom? Het is nog veel te vroeg om een goede diagnose te stellen zonder Massa zijn gezondheid in gevaar te brengen.
  
  Schumacher in de auto? Ik hoop het stiekem wel maar de kans lijkt me vrij klein. Diens management zei al nee. Maar goed, we gaan het zien.

Inmiddels weer thuis heb het drama daar gezien en zag hem recht voor me komen in het medical center en weg gaan met de helicopter.
Mooi dat het weer wat beter gaat en hoop dat het weer snel goed komt.
