Australiër Daniel Ricciardo krijgt Formule 1-test bij Red Bull Racing

Daniel Ricciardo, landgenoot van Mark Webber, krijgt aan het einde van dit jaar zijn eerste Formule 1-test bij het team van Red Bull Racing. Dit bevestigde teambaas Christian Horner van het Oostenrijkse team.

Ricciardo komt momenteel uit in het Brits Formule 3-kampioenschap en heeft tot heden vijf overwinningen, vier pole positions en tien podiums op zijn naam. De Australiër leidt eveneens het Brits kampioenschap, dat vorig jaar door Jaime Alguersuari werd gewonnen.

Horner: "Dan doet het momenteel erg goed en we houden hem zeker in de gaten. Ik denk dat hij later dit jaar tijdens de test in december voor jonge coureurs een kans krijgt om voor ons te testen."
