Ambitieuze Ricciardo wil Marko laten lachen

Daniel Ricciardo wil aankomend seizoen zo goed mogelijk presteren in de Formule 1. De Australiër weet dat er kansen liggen als hij goed voor de dag komt. Helmut Marko heeft hem geen speciale opdracht meegegeven, maar Ricciardo weet dat hij de adviseur moet laten lachen.

Ricciardo rijdt dit seizoen voor Visa Cash App RB, het zusterteam van Red Bull Racing. Aangezien het contract van Sergio Perez na dit jaar afloopt bij Red Bull, is er veel mogelijk. Bij een vrachtlading aan goede resultaten zou Ricciardo zomaar in aanmerking kunnen komen voor promotie naar het Oostenrijkse topteam. Dit jaar moet hij het echter doen met een zitje bij Visa Cash App RB (VCARB) en dat geeft hem veel vertrouwen.

Ricciardo denkt namelijk dat VCARB goede stappen kan gaan zetten. De Australiër heeft er veel zin in en hij laat aan de media-afdeling van de Formule 1 weten dat Helmut Marko hem geen doelen heeft meegegeven: "Ik ken hem en ik hoef niets te horen. Ik weet wat het doel is en wat daar voor nodig is. Vorig jaar reed ik slechts een paar races en ik kan Mexico eigenlijk alleen als voorbeeld gebruiken. Ik weet dat hij weet dat ik tot zoiets in staat ben. Zelfs in dat weekend hoefde hij niet veel te zeggen. Ik zag hem op de grid en hij lachte met een blik van 'dat is de Daniel die ik ken.' Als ik hem laat lachen, weet ik dat ik het goed doe! Helmut laten lachen, dat staat op de to-do-list!"

Ik denk dat Ricciardo erg moet hopen dat HH zijn functie kan houden. Ome Helmut ziet volgens mij liever Liam in die auto stappen.

Nounou, enig respect voor deze 8-voudig grand Prix winnaar. De enige die Max Verstappen over een heel seizoen wist te verslaan. Natuurlijk was Max onervaren, was de auto niet op hem afgestemd blabla.. hij is de enige geweest.

Een aantal magere jaren, maar met 34 jaar nog voldoende tijd om nog één periode te vlammen. Dit seizoen Tsunoda om de oren rijden, een verdwaald podium pakken en in 2025 Red Bull overtuigen om Perez te vervangen voor hem.

Goed, dat gezegd hebbende is dit wel het seizoen van de waarheid. Ik hoop en verwacht dat Ricciardo nog wat moois kan laten zien.

Ik vermoed dat als Horner eruit vliegt dat Ricciardo ook wel een probleem heeft.. Het is namelijk vooral Horner die "fan" van hem is binnen Red Bull Racing..
