Technisch directeur Williams roemt Nick Heidfeld

Nick Heidfeld lijkt niet te hoeven vrezen voor zijn Formule 1-loopbaan. Zijn huidige werkgever BMW Sauber stopt en de nieuwe eigenaar Qadbak Investments heeft nog geen startrecht voor 2010. Heidfeld staat echter in de belangstelling van Williams.

De Britse renstal promoveert waarschijnlijk testrijder Nico Hülkenberg naar racecoureur en zoekt nog een ervaren kracht om hem bij te staan. Technisch directeur Sam Michael heeft een hoge pet op van Heidfeld. Ten opzichte van Kubica doet Heidfeld het uitstekend. Het is belachelijk om te zeggen dat het einde van de carrière van Nick in zicht is.

Vandaag de dag kleven er vele voordelen aan een ervaren coureur. Iedereen weet dat testen tegenwoordig verboden is en een debutant neemt risicos met zich mee, zonder twijfel, besluit Michael in gesprek met Auto Bild Motorsport.
