Rechter doet op 5 januari uitspraak in zaak Briatore tegen FIA

Flavio Briatore krijgt op 5 januari te horen of zijn levenslange schorsing voor de autosport wordt opgeheven. Dat verklaarde de rechtbank van Parijs na de hoorzitting van gisteren. Briatore was daar zelf niet bij aanwezig.

De voormalig Renault-teambaas eist tevens een schadevergoeding van 1 miljoen euro van de internationale autosportbond FIA. Briatore kreeg de levenslange ban uit de autosport voor zijn aandeel in crash-gate, waarbij Nelson Piquet opzettelijk crashte om teamgenoot Fernando Alonso aan de winst te helpen.
