Grosjean: "We hebben meer personeel nodig"

Volgens Lotus-coureur Romain Grosjean moet zijn team meer personeel aannemen om de aansluiting met de top de hervinden. Dat vertelde hij tegenover het Franse F1i. Het team van Lotus maakt een dramatische seizoensstart door, terwijl het team vorig jaar de eerste race van het seizoen nog wist te winnen.

De berichten over financiële problemen zijn al een tijdje naar de achtergrond verdwenen, wellicht door de komst van Pastor Maldonado en zijn PDVSA-miljoenen. Het aantrekken van een kapitaalkrachtige coureur is echter niet de enige maatregel die in de winter in Enstone is genomen. Zo zouden er ook ongeveer honderd medewerkers zijn ontslagen.

Volgens Grosjean hebben de veranderingen een positief effect gehad op het team, maar het ontslaan van personeel speelt Lotus nu parten: "De situatie is stabieler en de sfeer in het team is erg goed," aldus de Fransman tegenover F1i. "Al de problemen van afgelopen jaar liggen nu achter ons, maar we moeten absoluut meer personeel aannemen om ons kleinere team te versterken. Over het algemeen is de situatie echter wel positief."
