Jolyon Palmer in gesprek met enkele Formule 1-teams

Jolyon Palmer heeft voor 2015 zijn zinnen gezet op een Formule 1-stoeltje. De Brit, momenteel lijstaanvoerder in de GP2, heeft al wat aftastende gesprekken met enkele teams gevoerd, onthulde hij tegenover Sky Sports F1. Welke renstallen dat zijn, verklapte hij niet.

Palmer: "Er speelt wel het een en ander. Tot nu gaat het allemaal uitstekend dit seizoen, op de dip in Oostenrijk na dan, maar verder valt alles op zijn plek. We praten met een aantal Formule 1-teams, maar veel meer kan ik daar op dit moment niet over zeggen. Het is absoluut mijn doel om in 2015 op de Formule 1-grid te staan. Voor nu is het mijn doel om de GP2-titel te winnen. We naderen een overeenkomst voor volgend jaar, maar ik focus me op het racen."

"Ik heb enorm veel zin in het weekend op Silverstone. Het is geweldig dat ik als koploper naar mijn thuisraces af kan reizen. Daar hoopte ik al op toen het aan het begin van dit seizoen lekker liep. Silverstone is een circuit dat ik goed ken. Ik heb hier in het verleden goed gepresteerd en het zou een droom zijn die uitkomt om voor eigen publiek te winnen of op het podium te belanden."
