Perez hoopt eindelijk eens punten te pakken in België

Force India-coureur Sergio Perez is vastberaden om dit weekend af te rekenen met zijn slechte staat van dienst op Spa-Francorchamps. De Mexicaan wist in drie eerdere bezoekjes als Formule 1-rijder geen enkel punt te scoren. Een elfde plek en twee uitvalbeurten vielen hem ten deel.

Perez wil daar deze editie verandering in brengen. "Ik heb nog nooit punten gepakt op Spa, dat is mijn eerste doel. Dit is een circuit waarop de kracht van de motor belangrijk is en ik denk dat we als Force India met Mercedes hier goed kunnen presteren."

"Ik hou van deze baan. Spa-Francorchamps staat bol van de geweldige bochten, karakter en historie. Het racen is altijd intens omdat het circuit meerdere inhaalmogelijkheden bevat. Het is interessant om te zien hoe de huidige wagens zich door Eau Rouge wurmen."
