Force India komt niet verder dan tweede kwalificatiedeel

Force India-coureurs Nico Hülkenberg en Sergio Perez konden geen potten breken tijdens de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Singapore. Hülkenberg vertrekt vanaf plek dertien, terwijl Perez als vijftiende zal starten.

"Ik hoopte wat competitiever te zijn en de top-tien te halen," vertelt een teleurgestelde Hülkenberg. "Mijn ronde was redelijk oké, Maar helaas een paar tienden te langzaam voor Q3. Ik ben optimistisch voor de race want ik heb nu een vrije bandenkeuze en er gebeurt altijd genoeg deze wedstrijd. Ik wil het circuit met punten verlaten."

Ook Perez had op meer gehoopt in Singapore: "De baan voelde vandaag anders aan. We hadden niet verwacht dat het circuit zo drastisch zou veranderen voor de kwalificatie. Ik had moeite met de banden. Vroeg in Q2 deden we een run om onszelf een vrije baan te geven en de banden op te warmen, maar het leverde niet het gewenste resultaat op. Inhalen wordt lastig op dit circuit, maar hopelijk kunnen we met een goede start en een sterke strategie nog wat mensen inhalen," baalt Perez.
