Kobayashi in Rusland weer bij Caterham naast Ericsson

Kamui Kobayashi krijgt voor de Grand Prix van Rusland wederom de voorkeur boven Roberto Merhi bij Caterham. De Japanner verschijnt samen met Marcus Ericsson aan de start van de eerste Formule 1-race in Sotsji. Merhi zal genoegen moeten nemen met alleen de eerste vrije training.

Teambaas Manfredi Ravetto: "Kamui had weinig geluk in zijn thuisrace, maar op een nieuw circuit als Sotsji begint iedereen op nul en dan kan hij met zijn ervaring het verschil maken. Aan de andere kant heeft Marcus zijn niveau in de tweede seizoenshelft aanzienlijk opgekrikt en verheugen we ons erop om te zien waar hij in Rusland toe in staat is."

"We zijn in een positieve bui naar Rusland afgereisd. In de afgelopen drie races hebben we progressie geboekt en zijn we voor onze voornaamste concurrent geëindigd. Onze laatste serie updates presteerde ook beter dan verwacht. Daar zijn we blij mee. Nu is het zaak om deze lijn door te trekken richting het einde van het seizoen."
