Fans steunen nieuw puntensysteem, Ferrari populairste team

De eerste resultaten van het marktonderzoek onder Formule 1-fans van Formule 1-partner LG, teamverbond FOTA en magazine F1 Racing zijn bekend. Het nieuwe puntensysteem blijkt in goede aarde te vallen, Michael Schumacher is de bekendste coureur, Ferrari geniet als team de meeste populariteit en de fans hebben Formule 1-races in High Definition (HD) het hoogst op hun verlanglijst staan.

Dat meldt F1 Racing. Meer dan 90.000 fans uit meer dan 180 landen vulden in februari de enquete in. Daaruit bleek dat 45 procent het nieuwe puntensysteem met het schema 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 goed vindt. Monaco kreeg de meeste stemmen wat betreft favoriete Grand Prix-locatie, voor Italië en Groot-Brittannië. Ferrari kwam als populairste team uit de bus. De Italiaanse renstal ontving dertig procent van de stemmen, ruim tien procent meer dan McLaren. Bij de rijders eindigde Michael Schumacher met 19,5 procent op de eerste plaats, Fernando Alonso bezette de tweede positie. Later deze week volgen gedetailleerdere uitkomsten.
