Max Verstappen past stoeltje voor STR10

De voorbereidingen op het seizoen van 2015 zijn in volle gang. Ook bij Scuderia Toro Rosso maken ze zich op voor een interessant seizoen met twee jonge debutanten. Carlos Sainz Jr en Max Verstappen zullen de honneurs waarnemen voor het Italiaanse team.

Verstappen was deze week in Engeland om in de simulator twee dagen werk te verrichten, waarna hij richting Italië vloog om zijn stoeltje voor de STR10 te schuimen.

"In de simulator kunnen we nu al deels met de auto van 2015 rijden", vertelt Max via zijn website. "Niet alle nieuwe onderdelen zitten al in de simulator, maar wel al een groot aantal. Dat verschil merk je, zelfs in de simulator."

"Ik heb veel rondjes gemaakt op het circuit van Barcelona en ik heb ook nog even op Abu Dhabi gereden. We hebben veel lange runs gedaan om te proberen zo constant mogelijk te zijn."

"Het stoeltje was al voor nieuwjaar geschuimd, dus ik heb niet lang stil hoeven te zitten. Vandaag ging het er vooral om dat we de scherpe kantjes eraf hebben gehaald, zodat het stoeltje goed zit. Het was ook een goede gelegenheid om bij te praten met de engineers en met alle mensen er omheen."

"We hebben vandaag ook een meeting gehad om te kijken hoe we ons gaan voorbereiden op die eerste tests."

Carlos Sainz Jr zal op 1 februari het debuut van de STR10 inluiden. Max zal op maandag 2 februari beginnen met het testwerk in Jerez de la Frontera.

Dat is wel fijn voor hem. Ik moet er niet aan denken om een jaar lang in een stoeltje te zitten dat niet past.
