Villeneuve vindt het verhaal rondom Alonso's crash 'vreemd'

Jacques Villeneuve laat weten het verhaal rondom de crash van Fernando Alonso afgelopen zondag maar vreemd te vinden. De Spanjaard verbleef na de crash enkele dagen in het ziekenhuis en is inmiddels thuis om te herstellen. Alonso's deelname in Melbourne is hierdoor voorlopig nog niet zeker.

Volgens de wereldkampioen van 1997 kloppen bepaalde aspecten van McLaren's kant van het verhaal niet: "Je kunt zeker de controle over je auto verliezen vanwege technische problemen of het verlies van concentratie. Zelfs door de wind kan zoiets gebeuren. Als je op de limiet rijdt kun je fouten maken. Maar ik heb zoveel over dit incident gelezen, bijvoorbeeld dat Alonso niet hard reed. Als je nagaat dat dit bij Fernando is gebeurd, dan klinkt dat vreemd."

"Ik ben geen dokter, maar de klap was naar wat ik begrijp niet hard. Misschien was de hoek waarop hij de muur raakte vreemd. Het verhaal laat mij verward achter. Het ding dat mij in het verkeerde keelgat schiet is alle mysterie. McLaren heeft ons veel verteld en wie weet of de waarheid daarbij hoort."

Ook de nieuwe V6-motoren liggen Villeneuve niet: "Deze motor mag ik niet. Het idee dat rijders op een lampje moeten wachten voordat ze uit de auto kunnen klimmen omdat ze anders een schok riskeren, of marshalls die speciale handschoenen moeten dragen. Ik heb niets tegen vooruitgang, maar als we het hebben over iets dat niets bijdraagt aan de show is het een nutteloos gevaar."

tuurlijk mag hij z,n mening geven, doen wij toch ook hier ?

vreemd is dat Mclaren niet alles lijkt te vertellen, als ze dit zouden zeggen dat de auto het beton op de verkeerde hoek raakt, (zoals Grosjean hier ook zegt (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/117837) dan is het voor mij klaar

Ik begrijp niet goed wat jullie allemaal tegen Villeneuve hebben. Voor mij is hij het symbool van de old school Formule 1-rijder: onverschrokken en geen blad voor de mond!
In deze heeft JV weer volledig gelijk!

Bijzonder dat er nog steeds mensen zijn die denken dat de persoon naar de pers toe loopt en zijn mening gaat geven. Villeneuve is nou eenmaal vaak te vinden bij de F1. De pers loopt daar rond en stelt hém vragen. Villeneuve geeft daar antwoord op en de pers pleurt het op internet. En dan komen er hier weer gasten aan die roepen; oh, ik dacht al, waar blijft JV met z'n gezever..
