Verstappen in top tien marktpotentie van rijders

Max Verstappen moet zijn eerste race in de Formule 1 nog rijden, maar zijn eerste top tien-notering is al een feit. De jonge debutant van Scuderia Toro Rosso is bij een studie van de Duitse firma Repucom in de top tien van coureurs die de meeste marktwaarde vertegenwoordigen. Bovenaan het lijstje prijkt de naam van Fernando Alonso, 98 procent van de Spanjaarden zou bekend zijn met de tweevoudig wereldkampioen.

Sebastiaan Westerhout, directeur van Repucom Nederland vertelde aan de Verstappen Info Page: "De teams zijn het afgelopen jaar flink gewijzigd en ook de top tien van coureurs met de hoogste marketingwaarde kent de nodige veranderingen. Hoe reageren merken op deze nieuwe grid? We zien dat steeds meer consumentenmerken in de Formule 1 stappen. Uiteindelijk zijn het de merken die profiteren van de marketingwaarde van een coureur. Nieuwe consumentgerichte partnerships zijn CNN's sponsorship van McLaren-Honda, de deal van Hugo Boss met Mercedes en Williams Martini's partnerships met Hackett, Unilever en Rexona."
