Hamilton ontkent geruchten rondom nieuw contract Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton heeft de geruchten rondom zijn eventuele nieuwe contract bij Mercedes onderuitgehaald. De Engelse krant The Times berichtte dat de regerend wereldkampioen 1,5 miljoen dollar per week vroeg, iets waar volgens Hamilton zelf helemaal niets van waar is.

Volgens Hamilton is het nieuwe contract met Mercedes zelfs al bijna getekend: "We hebben bijna alles afgerond, op een paar kleine details na. Deze zullen wij waarschijnlijk in de komende dagen gladstrijken. De geruchten dat het om een contract voor 1,5 miljoen dollar per week gaat slaan helemaal nergens op. Dat is het grootste stuk onzin dat de afgelopen tijd geschreven is."

Ook Toto Wolff heeft inmiddels ontkend dat het nieuwe contract van Hamilton de eerdergenoemde bedragen bevat. De teambaas vertelde een verslaggever: "Je moet je eens afvragen waar je precies je drugs vandaan haalt."

Zou niet gek zijn: Alonso verslagen bij McLaren, Rosberg verslagen bij Mercedes en dan Vettel verslaan bij Ferrari. Daarna kan hij met pensioen want Max gaat vanaf 2018 voor de titel.
