Ricciardo enigszins verrast door gat naar Mercedes

Daniel Ricciardo staat enigszins te kijken van het grote snelheidsverschil met het team van Mercedes. De Australiër eindigde tijdens de race in Australië als zesde, maar werd wel op een ronde achterstand gereden door de mannen van Mercedes. Het verschil is toch iets groter dan verwacht.

"De winter was een stuk beter dan vorig seizoen, maar in termen van snelheid zijn we niet één seconde te langzaam, maar eerder twee", aldus Ricciardo. "We weten waar een groot deel van die achterstand in zit, maar het is toch meer dan we hadden verwacht."

"We hebben overduidelijk een achterstand, maar we moeten er het beste van maken. Ik weet zeker dat we het wel voor elkaar krijgen, maar dat kan een tijdje gaan duren. Hopelijk gaan de volgende races beter."

Teams als mclaren, Ferrari en Redbull kijken altijd naar het beste team in dit geval Mercedes. Is dus logisch dat hij daar na kijkt die teams strijden voor het kampioenschap en niet voor de 5e en 6e plekken.
