Lotus zoekt oplossing voor 'vreemd' probleem

Romain Grosjean viel afgelopen zondag uit door een probleem met het inlaat luchtsysteem. Dat laat technical director Nick Chester weten. Volgens hem had Lotus niet alleen op zondag last hiervan, maar stak het probleem verschillende malen in het weekend haar kop op.

"Er was een probleem met het inlaat luchtsysteem waar een lek zich had ontwikkeld. Dit gebeurde met beide auto's op vrijdag. Met wat werk en een paar aanpassingen hadden wij het eerste probleem gerepareerd, maar helaas keerde het op zondag terug bij Romain."

"We hebben meer dan vierduizend kilometer gereden in de winter en toen kwam het probleem geen enkele keer voor. Het is dus vreemd dat wij er nu wel last van hebben. Het is lastig zo'n mankement goed op het circuit te repareren, en daarom werken wij nu hard aan het probleem in de fabriek. We doen uitvoerige tests om te zorgen dat wij tot een robuuste oplossing komen."
