Perez anticipeert op moeilijk weekend in Spanje

Force India gaat het over anderhalve week zwaar krijgen in Spanje. Dat stelt coureur Sergio Perez. Het circuit van Barcelona ligt de VJM08 niet. Perez: "Het wordt een heel moeilijk weekend in Spanje. Aerodynamisch is Barcelona een veeleisend circuit met de vele snelle en medium-snelle bochten. Op dat vlak schieten wij juist het meest tekort."

Voor Force India en Perez is het wachten op de B-versie van de auto voordat ze echt competitief kunnen zijn. "Het is heel frustrerend als coureur om te weten dat je met het juiste materiaal kan winnen", aldus de Mexicaan. "Ik weet zeker dat als ik een goede wagen tot mijn beschikking zou hebben, ik races zou winnen en voor het kampioenschap mee zou doen."

"Het is lastig om uit te leggen dat je sterk hebt gereden wanneer je op een negende of tiende plek aan de finish komt. Maar als je twee tienden per ronde sneller bent dan je teamgenoot, die te boek staat als een van de beste rijders, en je komt vijftien seconden voor hem over de finish, dan heb je uitstekend gereden. Voor de buitenwacht is het moeilijker om dat op waarde te schatten."
