Lotus verwacht punten van Pastor Maldonado

Pastor Maldonado kent nog geen gelukkig seizoen in 2015. De Lotus-coureur kende verschillende crashes, spins en miste in China de ingang van de pitsstraat. Als gevolg hiervan heeft Pastor nog geen enkel punt gescoord dit seizoen, terwijl teamgenoot Romain Grosjean al twaalf op de teller heeft staan.

Chief Executive Matthew Carter vindt dat hier verandering in moet komen. Volgens hem helpt Maldonado het team financieel substantieel - per seizoen levert oliemaatschappij PDVSA tussen de dertig en veertig miljoen dollar aan Lotus - maar moeten hier ook resultaten tegenover staan: "Pastor heeft een druk seizoensbegin gehad. Zijn auto lijkt het doelwit te zijn van andere rijders."

"We weten dat Pastor snel is. We verwachten dat beide auto's punten scoren tijdens de race, maar dat is niet iets waar ik direct invloed op kan uitoefenen."

      Het kan haast niet anders dan dat het sarcasme was of hij heeft ongelofelijke grote oogkleppen op tijdens de races.

      het is vaak andersom geweest ja, maar doet niets af aan het feit dat hij dit seizoen al in Australië, China, en Bahrein door anderen geraakt werd.
      Niet alles is dus Maldonado's schuld.

      Bij Lotus weten ze dondersgoed dat ze met Maldonado geen puntenmachine in huis hebben, maar dat zijn bijdrage van levensbelang is voor het voortbestaan van het team.
      Maldonado kan hard rijden maar het is gewoon een rauwdouwer.
      Hopelijk veranderd hij niets aan zichzelf want ik vind het gewoon een leuk karakter op de grid, lekker doorgaan en Lotus moet de schade's die hij zo nu en dan rijdt maar voor lief nemen, misschien als ze eens mazzel hebben, en de wind komt uit de juiste hoek, dat hij alsnog punten scoort?

      Zelfs als Pastor de rest van dit seizoen iedere race het doelwit zou zijn van andere coureurs, dan nog slaat de balans in negatieve zin uit naar zijn kant. Die man heeft zo ongelooflijk veel op zijn kerfstok, dat hij simpelweg geen recht van klagen heeft. Bovendien rijdt hij zelf ook nog steeds veel schade.

    Ik vind da maldonado het dit sezoen niet slecht doet. Hij heeft alleen wa pech met die andere rijders

    Wie neemt er dan ook start nummer 13. Bijna alle landen waar geracet wordt is dat een ongeluks getal.

    Als de teamleiding zulke dingen gaat zeggen, dan heeft die lulhannes als er niets veranderd hooguit nog 3 a 4 races voor de boeg.

      Welnee, compleet inhoudsloze verkapte dreigementen. Vorige week was Lopez nog aan het "huilen" in de pers over geld. Ze kunnen de centen helemaal niet missen.

    Als de teamleiding dit soort verklaringen aan de pers geeft, dan zal Pastor snel met resultaten moeten komen. Anders is het einde oefening.
