Gescheurde enkelbanden voor Lotus-monteur

De Lotus-monteur die door Romain Grosjean omver gekegeld werd bij een van de pitstops in Spanje heeft daar gescheurde enkelbanden aan overgehouden. Dat bevestigde engineer Alan Permane tegenover F1i.com. De betreffende monteur is naar huis gestuurd om te herstellen.

Permane: "Het was een rijdersfout. De man aan de krik voor de auto is een beetje beurs, maar verder oké. Voor een andere lid van de pitcrew liep het minder goed af. Ik vermoed dat zijn been vast is komen te zitten in wat draden. Hij liep gescheurde enkelbanden op en zal nu moeten revalideren. Het is dus gelukkig niet ernstig, maar ook niet ideaal."

Grosjean: "Het was een zware en veelbewogen race. Ik ben blij dat niemand ernstige verwondingen overgehouden heeft aan die pitstop. Ik kon gewoon niet op tijd meer stoppen. Het was een angstig moment voor mij, maar waarschijnlijk nog meer voor de pitcrew. Ik ben ze nu wel wat biertjes verschuldigd."
