Eerste punten McLaren niet uitbundig gevierd

Het team van McLaren heeft de eerste punten van 2015 binnen. Jenson Button kwam in Monaco als achtste over de meet en bezorgde de Britse renstal zodoende vier puntjes. McLaren is na zes Grands Prix eindelijk van de hatelijke nul af.

Niet dat er daardoor een feeststemming heerste in de pitbox bij het team of in de fabriek in Woking. McLaren en Honda koesteren grotere ambities dan puntjes sprokkelen. Racing director Eric Boullier: "We gaan pas iets vieren wanneer we weer winnen."

Bovendien blijft de betrouwbaarheid een zorgenkindje. In Monaco viel Fernando Alonso, die eveneens afstevende op punten, uit met een versnellingsbakprobleem. "De betrouwbaarheid moet beter. Dat is een van onze prioriteiten. We dienen op alle vlakken te verbeteren", aldus Boullier.

    De Mclaren, met de nieuwe livery, is echt een mooie wagen. Hopelijk kunnen ze naar het einde toe aansluiten met de top en volgend jaar meedoen voor podia. Ik gun het team succes want hun historische waarde is toch van groot belang voor de sukkelende F1. En uiteraard hoop ik op een kansje voor Stoffel.

    Ik blijf de start echt pover vinden van de tandem Mclaren en Honda. Maar des te groter zal de vreugde zijn als ze er weer staan...

    Ik ga ervan uit dat McLaren binnen 2 jaar weer voor podiumplaatsen gaat strijden

      Ik hoop wel dat het geen 2 jaar gaat duren maar het volgend jaar al het geval gaat zijn

    Ik hoop met recht dat Stoffel VanDoorne volgend seizoen zijn intrede mag doen bij McLaren. Max en Stoffel...dat zijn coureurs waar ik graag naar kijk op het circuit ;)

    Jenson Button, de man die zo vaak van kritiek wordt voorzien. Te oud, niet gemotiveerd, niet goed genoeg....?

    Ironisch genoeg is het Button die de eerste punten voor McLaren pakt.
    Sterker nog.. ik vind hem dit jaar eigenlijk niet eens echt onder doen voor Alonso.

    Wie goed kijkt ziet dat Button redelijk zijn mannetje stond tegenover Hamilton, daarna Perez & Magnussen compleet af heeft gemaakt en ook dit jaar gewoon een belangrijke man is bij McLaren.

    Laat Button nog maar even in die wagen zitten. Wat mij betreft nog steeds een rijder die meer dan thuishoort bij een topteam!
