Alonso racet met kleine blessure in Groot-Brittannië

Wonder boven wonder kwamen Fernando Alonso en Kimi Raikkonen ongedeerd uit hun bolides na de stevige crash die ze meemaakten op de Red Bull Ring. Toch verscheen Alonso met een verband om zijn hand in de paddock op Silverstone, waar dit weekend de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië plaatsvindt.

Volgens de Spanjaard heeft het verband om zijn hand niets te maken met zijn crash in Oostenrijk. "Ik viel van de fiets tijdens een training, maar ik ben oké," liet de McLaren-coureur weten tegen enkele Spaanse journalisten. Alonso was tussen de Grand Prix' door gaan mountainbiken met vrienden in de Alpen, maar kwam naar verluidt tijdens een afdaling ten val. Daarbij blesseerde hij zich aan zijn hand. "Er zit een verbandje omheen zodat het niet infecteert. Het zijn maar een paar schaafwonden."

Volgens onbevestigde berichten schoot en plots en onverklaard een elektrische schok door de fiets. Maar verluidt was Alonso een paar seconden buiten westen.
