Mercedes bereid om concurrentie aansluiting te laten maken

Mercedes is op dit moment het te kloppen team in de Formule 1. Daardoor is de Formule 1 echter wel in een zogenaamde 'crisis' terecht gekomen. Mercedes is bereid om mee te werken aan een oplossing.

Velen geloven dat de Mercedes-motor het grootste probleem vormt. Die Duitse motor is veel beter dan die van de concurrentie en door de kostenbesparende 'engine freeze' is het voor het worstelende Renault en Honda niet mogelijk om het gat te dichten. Desondanks beseft Mercedes niet goed voor de sport en is men bereid om te zoeken naar een oplossing.

"Normaal gesproken is het de bedoeling om de concurrentie de grond in te boren. Daar worden we voor betaald. Het is onderdeel van het DNA van de sport en naar mijn weten is het nog niet eerder gebeurd dat de beste wordt gevraagd om te stoppen met ontwikkelen zodat de anderen aansluiting kunnen vinden," zei teambaas Toto Wolff van Mercedes tegen Speed Week. "Maar je kan de problemen niet negeren, dus we moeten een manier vinden zodat zijn kunnen aansluiten zonder dat we tegen het DNA van de sport in gaan."

Wolff vervolgt: "Tijdens de laatste bijeenkomst hebben we gezegd dat als Honda en Renault hulp nodig hebben, dat we daar over moeten praten. Misschien moeten we het systeem van de 'tokens' aanpassen, misschien moeten we ontwikkeling weer toestaan op enkele plekken waar dat nu verboden is. Naar onze mening is dit niet begeerlijk, maar als het belangrijk is voor de sport, zijn we klaar om er over te praten."

Komt wat arrogant over, ook met de beste bedoeling.
Ik vindt niet dat Mercedes hier iets aan moet doen, het is hun verdienste. Stem die belachelijke beperkingen nu eens af zodat teams door ontwikkeling het gat kunnen dichten !!!

Ja natuurlijk heeft Toto gelijk, "we worden betaald om de concurrentie de grond in te boren" maar met hun dominantie boren ze de F1 de grond in als zou blijken dat zelfs binnen het team zelf nl, tussen Lewis & Nico ook geen strijd meer is, want eerlijk gezegd Lewis is gewoon de betere van de 2 en om spanning te creëren zouden ze Lewis moeten laten rijden met versleten banden of iets dergelijks

@stitch, zo dacht ik er ook over. Gewoon zogenaamd toegeven, dan weer niet eens zijn met de aanvullende voorwaarden, dan weer praten over hoe goed de F1 ervoor staat, dan weer beetje toegeven. Net zolang door eikelen totdat andere teams keuzes moeten gaan maken voor t volgende seizoen. Dan is dit jaar alweer in de pocket. Volgend jaar met 2 sec voorsprong seizoen beginnen ( en de rest van de tokens oid) en 2016 is ook binnen. In 2017 ook weer vooraan staan, omdat men daar wellicht alweer mee bezig is. Ik weet, het klinkt erg negatief, maar zo staat de F1 er ook wel voor denk ik.

Gewoon een streep door de engine freeze voor 2016 in combinatie met de ontwikkeling weer toestaan voor bepaalde onderdelen waar het nu verboden is zoals Toto zegt. Vind ik helemaal geen gek idee. Als Mercedes daarmee akkoord gaat dan mogen ze bij Renault en Honda in hun handjes wrijven. Veel meer zal er niet uit te halen zijn want Mercedes is natuurlijk ook niet gek.

Wat is er zo raar aan de regels van de Golf-sport? Gewoon een handicap regel invoeren. Da's eerlijk voor iedereen. Maakt niets uit welk team er aan kop staat.

Saarom heeft hij het alleen over Honda en Renault, willen ze Ferrari hiervoor buitensluiten? Denk dat dit weer praatjes zijn om Mercedes in een goed daglicht te zetten, al juich ik het plan wel toe.

  Dat zat ik ook te denken. Als Renault en Honda dochterbij komen, dan komen ze eerst vooral dichterbij aan Ferrari. Hoe meer concurrentie voor Ferrari hoe beter voor Mercedes.

Moeten ze doen daar bij Mercedes.....heb nog wel een ideetje......geef Williams meer input. Dan heb je meer spektakel bij de top 4 haha. Was vandaag toch ook leuk om te zien.
