Felipe Nasr waakt voor geldverspilling bij Sauber

Het team van Sauber moet efficiënt met de beperkte financiële middelen omspringen. Dat stelt coureur Felipe Nasr. De Braziliaan bracht in ruil voor een racestoeltje vele miljoenen in en hij wil niet dat Sauber die centen verkwanselt. De Zwitserse renstal introduceert in Singapore een upgrade. De te vroeg gebrachte nieuwe voorvleugel in China eerder dit jaar geldt als doemscenario.

Nasr: "Het is belangrijk om geen geld te verspillen aan dingen die niet functioneren. We dienen gericht te werk te gaan, de correlatie van de data goed te controleren en in de windtunnel alles uitvoerig te testen. Voor de ontwerpers is de uitdaging om iets te bedenken waarmee we meteen een grote hap vooruitgang boeken."

"Het potentieel van de mensen die hier werken is enorm. De faciliteiten zijn uitstekend. Ik heb het gevoel dat het alsmaar beter gaat. Het aantrekken van Mark Smith is een goede stap geweest, maar het zal wat tijd kosten voordat we daar iets van merken. Wat we in China zagen met de voorvleugel, dat willen we niet meer. Het is echt zaak om elke update te laten tellen."

      Oke, ik geef toe , hij brengt het meeste geld in het laatje. Maar kom op zeg, het kan je ook te ver naar het hoofd stijgen. Laat het managen en het financiële gedeelte van het team a.u.b. over aan mensen die al langer met het F1 bijltje hakken dan dat hij doet.

      @Dutchthreat: Je bedoelt dus dat hij het managen en de financiële situatie aan Monisha moet overlaten? Dan heeft Nasr gelijk, hij kan beter zelf die touwtjes in handen nemen.
      Soort driver/manager/accountant combi functie zoals speler/trainer in het voetbal haha

    Eigenlijk best wel sneu om zo'n Sauber afhankelijk te zien van rijders die geld meebrengen, en dan ook nog een mening hebben hoe het geld gespendeerd wordt...gelukkig kan Nasr nog een beetje rijden, maar die Ericsson....

    Nasr is een prima aanwinst voor de F1 in mijn ogen. Nu graag nog een teamgenoot die minstens hetzelfde niveau heeft!

      Nasr doet het heel behoorlijk en doet tot op heden amper onder voor de STR boys denk ik. Uiteraard zijn het verschillende auto's die op verschillende momenten in het seizoen snel waren maar ik vind hem volwassen en gedegen overkomen. Net als in de voorgaande klasses. Stukken beter dan zijn meer ervaren hoogblonde teamgenoot, die weliswaar niet slecht is maar toch te vaak een zwakke indruk achterlaat.
