ART Grand Prix bevestigt Formule 1-plannen voor 2011

Het Franse ART Grand Prix-team wil volgend seizoen deelnemen in de Formule 1, zo liet mede-oprichter Frederic Vasseur vandaag weten. Het team is momenteel een topteam in de Formule 3 Euroseries en de GP2 Series waarbij onder andere Nico Hülkenberg vorig jaar kampioen werd.

"We hebben ons inderdaad aangemeld om het dertiende team te zijn in 2011", bevestigde Vasseur. "We wilden niet eerder zeggen dat we van plan zijn om naar de Formule 1 te gaan, omdat we ons hier op de best mogelijke manier willen voorbereiden en onze andere activiteiten moeten er niet onder lijden."

"We hebben ook de andere teams al geïnformeerd over onze plannen en we hebben op dit moment een goede relatie met Mercedes, Ferrari en Renault. We hebben echter nog geen keuze gemaakt over de motoren."
