'Ferrari stopt binnenkort met haar driver academy'

Ferrari zou binnenkort de geldkraan dicht kunnen draaien bij haar jeugdprogramma. Dat zegt de Finse krant Ilta Sanomat, die enkele Italiaanse bronnen citeert. Sergio Marchionne zou namelijk geen fan zijn van de driver academy. Maurizio Arrivabene deelt de mening van zijn baas, en zou het geld liever in de ontwikkeling van de auto steken.

De meest bekende coureur uit het Italiaanse programma was Jules Bianchi, die een stoeltje bij Marussia in de wacht wist te slepen. Andere coureurs zijn Antonio Fuco, Raffaele Marciello, Lance Stroll en Guan Yu Zhou.

Ze weten dat over 2 jaar, dat ze dan voor de komende 15 jaar genoeg hebben aan een talent die de onbetwiste nummer 1 rijder zal blijven ;)

    Het heeft ze bij mijn weten los van Bianchi nooit ook maar een vage F1-coureur opgeleverd dus kappen met die handel...

      Daarnaast plukt Ferrari net zo makkelijk rijders weg bij andere teams, zoals Red Bull Racing (Vettel) En jonge talenten met weinig ervaring komen sowieso al nooit in het plaatje van Ferrari voor dus hoeveel waarde heeft zo'n jeugdprogramma dan nog? Kappen met die handel inderdaad :)

      Ferrari gaat toch alleen voor coureurs met veel ervaring en daarnaast heeft het team genoeg aantrekkingskracht om ervaren, talentvolle coureurs naar binnen te hengelen (die door de talentenprogramma's van andere teams in de F1 zijn beland).

    Ik denk dat het probleem is dat er gewoon geen goede contracten worden gemaakt. In het voetbal is het heel normaal doorverkooppercentages en opleidingskosten te declaren bij een doorverkoop dat kent de autosport niet. Ga niet zeggen dat het altijd goed is maar het zorgt ervoor dat de topteams ook gebruik maken van de kleinere teams voor het opleiden van de toekomstige topcoureurs.

    Aan de andere kant als je nu bekijkt hoe je de superlicentie krijgt waarbij voorwaarde is dat je top 3 rijdt in kampioensschap wordt de pool met rijders ook een stuk kleiner dus ook makkelijker om daar uit te kiezen denk ik.

    Sergio Perez was ook onderdeel van het programma.

    Maar wanneer je niet op de zelfde wijze te werk gaat als RedBull heeft het ook weinig zin inderdaad. Een A en een B team zijn noodzakelijk om zo de junioren een kans te geven en om door te kunnen groeien. De keerzijde is dat je bij RedBull nooit rijders zult vinden van buiten het programma. En het is het doel de grootste talenten te spotten en dat lukt RedBull ook niet altijd. Ze hadden LeClerc kunnen hebben maar hebben Illot vastgelegd. Door Max koos Lynn eieren voor zijn geld.

    Het blijft lastig, het mooiste zou zijn zonder dergelijke programma's te werken. Maar dan waren ook weer veel talenten niet zo ver gekomen als dat ze nu gekomen zijn.

    ... Omdat ze met het aantrekken van Max in 2017 voorlopig geen nieuwe jonge rijders nodig hebben, en ze bovendien toch weg kunnen kapen bij het Red Bull programma ?

      Dat kost ze dan 20 miljoen, terwijl in 2017 Bottas, Hulk en Ricciardo goedkopere alternatieven zijn....

      Nee dat is niet zo, want met Max koop je een 10 jaar meer tijd voor een dergelijke investering. Dus omgerekend kan het voordeliger zijn!

    Zon opleiding heeft alleen echt zin als er ook een juniorteam is tenzij je net als McLaren zo'n jonge rijder laat debuteren, echter schuiven zij ze net zo makkelijk ook weer aan de kant en dan is de investering van tijd en geld in zon talent ook weer teniet gedaan.
