Mercedes werkt hard aan koppelingsprobleem

Mercedes zegt hard bezig te zijn met een oplossing voor haar koppelingsprobleem. Deze zou de afgelopen races de oorzaak zijn geweest voor slechte starts van Nico Rosberg en Lewis Hamilton. Teambaas Toto Wolff noemt de problemen 'onaanvaardbaar', aangezien ze al in Oostenrijk de kop opstaken.

Ook sinds het nieuwe starten is geïntroduceerd - afgelopen weekend in België - blijft Mercedes last houden van slechte starts. Op Spa was het Rosberg die niet goed van de lijn kwam. "Dat we een extra opwarmronde moesten doen was hier ook een oorzaak van," legt de Duitse coureur uit. "Dat zorgt ervoor dat de auto warmer wordt, waardoor de starts anders zijn dan verwacht."

Een engineer van Mercedes zou tegen het Duitse Auto Motor und Sport hebben gezegd: "Het raamwerk qua motor- en bandentemperatuur én 'bite point' is erg klein voor ons."

Hoewel Mercedes inmiddels met een oplossing bezig zou zijn voor het probleem, zal het minstens tot Singapore duren voordat deze gereed is. Dit is volgens diezelfde engineer echter wel te overzien: "Op Spa en Monza kun je het je veroorloven slecht te starten. Er is immers genoeg ruimte om in te halen. Maar voor Singapore moeten wij een oplossing vinden, daar hebben wij die luxe niet."

    Met andere worden als we heel de eerste ronde doorkomen zijn wij de snelste en worden we 1 en 2

    Ach die man zeurt ze kunnen het zich over al permitteren . Ze zijn verreweg de snelste en als alleen de start tegen zit worden ze gewoon weer 1 en 2 . Zit er meer tegen worden ze een keer 4 en 7 nou wat erg voor hun . 1 van hun twee word toch kampioen dat staat wel vast

      Dat is een beetje circuitgewijs. Op Hongarije konden ze dat bijvoorbeeld niet, op Monaco en Singapore heb je hetzelfde verhaal. Op Spa of Monza is dat inderdaad onzin.

    MB is goed in het verzinnen van problemen, waardoor de F1 'spannend' lijkt. Zelf met een slechte start winnen ze nog 1-2. Dus what's the big deal man.
