Ericsson draait verhoudingen binnen Sauber om

Marcus Ericsson heeft de rollen binnen Sauber op zijn kop gezet. In de eerste seizoenshelft was teamgenoot Felipe Nasr hem veelvuldig de baas, maar de Zweed is de laatste tijd juist sterker. Ericsson scoorde in de voorbije drie races punten terwijl Nasr al sinds Monaco droog staat.

Hij schakelde mentale begeleiding in om hem te helpen, bekent Ericsson tegenover Globo. "Ik reken op professionele hulp. Ik loop bij Formula Medicine van dokter Riccardo Ceccarelli in Italië. Zij helpen me op verschillende vlakken, ook met het mentale aspect."

"De auto was snel aan het begin van het jaar, maar ik was dat niet. Het was een moeizame start van het seizoen voor mij. In feite heb ik mijn hele benadering voor een raceweekend veranderd. Ik heb nu de overhand, maar Felipe zit niet stil. Hij zal vastberaden zijn om zich terug te knokken, dus ik moet hard blijven werken."

Nasr had na Monaco kritiek op Max, ook omdat Max niet zo'n grondige opleiding zoals Nasr in de autosport had gehad. Nou, we zien wat dat Felipe brengt. Max schittert en Felipe wordt door die Zweedse pannenkoek om de oren gereden. En niet je DRS openzetten bij het banden opwarmen hè Felipe?

    Aan het begin van het seizoen werd Nasr in een adem genoemd met Sainz en Verstappen als zijnde de grote talenten, de verrassingen van het seizoen 2015.
    Ondanks het presteren van Ericsson ben ik nog steeds niet overtuigd van zijn talent. Dus wellicht zet Ericsson's presteren Nasr's talent wat meer in perspectief.

      Akkoord ! Nasr is echt wel niet je dat zoals velen denken. Subtop in de opstapklassen is geen referentie voor een zitje in de F1, punt. Dat Ericsson na 3 (drie !) seizoenen wat begint mee te draaien zonder brokken te maken, is dus niet bepaald een geweldige prestatie.

      Webber heeft gelijk. Dit soort paydrivers horen niet thuis in de F1. Geen een van beide.

      @Boutsen: Ericsson is pas aan zijn 2e seizoen bezig. Voor het overige ben ik het helemaal met je punt eens.

    Het valt moeilijk te ontkennen: Ericsson doet het beter dan verwacht.
    Of zoals ik het al eens eerder zei: Ericsson is zo slecht nog niet en Nasr is kennelijk niet zo goed als gedacht.

      Vergeet niet dat Nasr altijd halverwege het seizoen in kakt. Was in de voorgaande klasses ook al zo.
      Dat je psychische hulp nodig hebt om een raceweekend aan te kunnen is ook typisch. He's been Grosjeaned haha

      Tja, halverwege een seizoen inkakken, daarmee ga je normaliter nooit een titel winnen.
      Destijds had Brawn GP gedurende de eerste helft van het seizoen zo'n enorme voorsprong dat je daar rijdend je wel een mindere tweede helft kon veroorloven. Maar als Nasr hier geen werk van maakt, dan zal zijn carrière in de F1 niet al te lang duren.

    Ik had het echt niet verwacht dat Ericsson het dit jaar zo goed ging doen.
    Als hij zo verder blijft evolueren, wordt hij nog echt F1- waardig :)
