Punten in Singapore mogelijk volgens Grosjean

Ondanks financiële problemen en het daardoor niet kunnen verbeteren van de auto presteert Lotus dit seizoen prima. Romain Grosjean pakte op Spa-Francorchamps verrassend een podiumplaats. Het weekend in Monza verliep ook niet slecht, totdat de race kwam. Na een ronde waren beide coureurs van Lotus al klaar. Ondanks de teleurstellende race in Monza verwacht coureur Romain Grosjean goed voor de dag te kunnen komen in de straten van Singapore.

"We doen het erg goed, zeker als je bedenkt dat we geen updates op de auto kunnen zetten. Onze auto is goed in balans en lijkt het op elk circuit goed te doen. Dit betekent dat we punten kunnen scoren op circuits die erg verschillend zijn qua karakter. Wanneer ik de auto stap is het altijd afwachten hoe goed die het doet op de baan waar we rijden. Door het niet introduceren van updates moeten we het doen met wat we hebben", aldus Grosjean.

Grosjean geeft verder aan dat vertrouwen in de auto belangrijk is op het Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore. De goede balans van de wagen zou moeten helpen: "Er zijn een aantal rechte stukken, maar er zijn ook stukken met veel bochten. Het wordt interessant omdat je vertrouwen in je auto nodig hebt op een stratencircuit. Met de goede balans van de Lotus E23 moet het goed komen."

Mercedes, Ferrari, RedBull, Torro Rosso schaar ik er sowieso voor. Beter chassis voor deze baan en motorvermogen niet heel belangrijk.
