Force India plant upgrade voor thuisrace Perez

Het team van Force India beschikt dit weekend in Singapore pas over het volledige pakket voor de B-versie van de VJM08. Nu kan de Indiase renstal pas echt het potentieel van de vernieuwde auto aanboren. De komende races zal Force India updates blijven introduceren en voor de Mexicaanse Grand Prix pakt het team uit met een grotere upgrade.

Directeur Otmar Szafnauer deelde aan Autosport mede: "We hopen dat het hele pakket in Singapore werkt zodat we alles kunnen optimaliseren. Vanaf nu komen er steeds kleine aanpassingen. Alleen voor Mexico zijn we bezig met een significante update, omdat het de thuisrace van Sergio Perez is. We willen hem de grootst mogelijke kans bieden op een podium voor eigen publiek. Het is alleen nog de vraag of het qua timing gaat lukken."

Vice-teambaas Bob Fernley over de prestaties van Force India: "Ik ben tevreden over de gang van zaken. Op Silverstone is een stijgende lijn ingezet en die loopt nog altijd door. Het programma is ongewijzigd en in Singapore is de B-auto compleet. Het is nu zaak om eerst de betrouwbaarheid op orde te brengen. We zijn recent een paar keer uitgevallen en het is belangrijk om met beide auto's in de punten te eindigen als we beslag willen leggen op de vijfde plek."
