Palmer kruipt in Lotus voor eerste training Japan

Jolyon Palmer keert dit weekend voor even terug achter het stuur van de Lotus E23 Hybrid. De Brit neemt in Japan de eerste vrije training op het circuit van Suzuka voor zijn rekening. De regerend GP2-kampioen kwam dit seizoen al vaker in actie en verving dan steeds Romain Grosjean.

In Singapore hoefde Palmer niet op te draven, maar in Japan mag hij weer aan de bak en het ligt in de lijn der verwachting dat Grosjean daar weer de dupe van is. "Na een weekend aan de zijlijn in Singapore is het fijn om in Japan weer in de auto te mogen springen. Suzuka is een nieuw circuit voor mij en het wordt dus een pittige uitdaging, maar het is tegelijkertijd de perfecte gelegenheid om te leren", aldus de Brit.
