Alonso start achteraan tijdens zijn 250ste Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso zal zijn 250ste Formule 1-race in Sotsji achteraan moeten starten. Honda heeft gekozen om in Rusland een verbeterde motor in te zetten, hierdoor zal de Spanjaard een gridstraf van 25 plaatsen moeten incasseren.

Het is niet voor niets dat Honda juist in Rusland deze straf wil uitzitten. Het volgende raceweekend zal in het Amerikaanse Austin zijn, en waarschijnlijk zal de McLaren-Honda dat circuit beter liggen dan het circuit in Sotsji.

Honda heeft de laatste tokens ingezet die ze mogen gebruiken voor motorupdates in 2015. Onder andere de turbo is aangepakt door de Japanners. Honda heeft ook nagedacht om de motor van Jenson Button een update te geven, maar waarschijnlijk zal Button een gridstraf in Amerika in ontvangst nemen.

Honda is van plan om deze winter een verandering aan het ontwerp van de motor door te voeren, om zo een meer efficiënte en effectieve installatie van de turbo en ERS-systeem te kunnen uitvoeren.

Maar hij kan wel zeggen dat hij 250 grand prix start heeft gemaakt, nu alleen nog hopen dat hij bij de start weg komt.
