Nasr profiteert van chaotische eindfase

Voor het team van Sauber is de tweede seizoenshelft tot dusver vrij moeizaam verlopen. De Zwitsers wisten hier en daar de kruimels op te rapen, maar zijn na een goede seizoenstart weggezakt in de rangorde. In dat geval houdt het in dat je de kansen moet pakken wanneer ze zich voordoen en dat deed Felipe Nasr in Sochi.

Nasr finishte de race keurig als zesde en behaalde daarmee het beste resultaat sinds zijn vijfde plaats in de openingsrace van het seizoen. Nasr is vanzelfsprekend erg blij met het resultaat: "Ik ben zeer blij met dit resultaat, maar de race was wel wat intens. De auto deed het echter goed, zeker op de superzachte banden. Op de zachte banden was de balans iets minder, maar het team heeft vandaag goed werk geleverd met de strategie. Ik ben blij dat we deze kans om konden zetten in een mooi resultaat."

Voor Marcus Ericsson was het een weekend om snel te vergeten. De Zweed reed vorig jaar, toen nog in dienst bij Caterham, een van zijn betere races van het seizoen maar was dit weekend niet in goede doen. "Na mijn matige kwalificatie van gisteren had ik vertrouwen in de race. We kozen namelijk voor een afwijkende strategie. Mijn start was prima en ik wist direct een aantal jongens te passeren. In de tweede bocht spinde Nico Hülkenberg voor me en ik kon niets doen om hem te ontwijken. Erg jammer, Felipe heeft namelijk laten zien waar de auto toe in staat was in de race. Een gemist kans dus deze race voor mij", aldus Ericsson.

  Massa rijdt wel in een wagen die 1 seconde per ronde sneller is dan de Red Bull. Het is dat hij nog net voorbij Kvyat kon komen anders had ik het een hele slechte race gevonden. Nu is het nog net voldoende. Zeker niet vergelijkbaar met de prestaties van Perez en Nasr.

@Headshooter, duidelijke pro-Massa.
Vanaf p15 naar p4, maar uit de top 10 vielen er wel 7 weg. Op performance is Massa van P15 naar p11 gereden, waarbij hij dus alleen wagens heeft ingehaald die minimaal een seconde per ronde langzamer zijn.
Ik zeg dus niet dat het slecht is, maar het is gewoon het minimum wat je mag verwachten van de Williams.

Sainz reed bijvoorbeeld nog voor Massa terwijl Sainz toch wel even van helemaal achteraan was gestart. Misschien dat Massa Sainz nog had kunnen inhalen, maar opnieuw is de prestatie van Sainz dan toch veel beter dan die van Massa. En ik ben toch echt niet pro-Sainz ineens, maar ik vind dat het toch wel de prestatie van Massa in perspectief plaatst.
