Engineerwissel pakt goed uit voor Nasr

Felipe Nasr maakte voor de Grand Prix van Rusland bekent dat hij er voor gekozen heeft te wisselen van engineer. Na zijn prima debuutrace in Melbourne waar de Braziliaan als vijfde finishte zakte Nasr snel weg en waren nieuw finishes in de punten een zeldzaamheid.

In Rusland werd daarom besloten om te wisselen van engineer. Craig Gardiner werd vervangen door Paul Russel en plots behaalde Nasr met een zesde plaats in Sochi zijn op één na beste resultaat in de Formule 1.

“Het was een moeilijke beslissing om Craig aan de kant te schuiven en Paul diens plek te laten innemen, maar het heeft wel goed uitgepakt. De auto is meer in balans en voelt beter aan. Het past nu beter bij mijn rijstijl en daar ben ik zeer gelukkig mee. We hebben nog een hoop werk te doen, maar dit geeft mij een hoop vertrouwen voor de toekomst”, aldus Nasr.
