McLaren coureurs maken zich op voor nieuwe gridpenalties

Zowel Fernando Alonso als Jenson Button krijgen aankomend weekend in Mexico te maken met een gridpenalty. Beide McLaren-coureurs starten het weekend met een nieuwe specificatie van de Honda-motor. Alonso rijdt aankomend weekend met een nieuwe specificatie van de Honda-motor, terwijl Button in de vrije training van morgen gebruiken mag gaan maken van de update die Honda in Sochi introduceerde.

Alonso krijgt ook nog een extra straf vanwege een nieuwe versnellingsbak die in zijn McLaren gemonteerd moet worden. Jenson Button krijgt te maken met een dubbele motorwissel. Button vangt het weekend aan met de een na laatste specificatie van de Honda-motor, terwijl de Brit de rest van het weekend met de nieuwste specificatie rijdt. Vanwegde de dubbele motorenwissel start Button achteraan.

Begrijpend lezen... ze rijden allebei de race met de laatste spec. Alleen Button gebruikt op vrijdag nog even de ena laatste spec. Dus er zit op zaterdag en zondag geen verschil in....

      Eerder dit seizoen kreeg Button de eerste verbetering, Alonso een race later. Nu was het dus Alonso zijn beurt.

      Button gooit even de Sochi spec in de pool mocht de mexico spec (update betrouwbaarheid zonder tokens) toch niet zo goed blijken.

    Ik ben het spoor even bijster..

    Is er nou in Sochi een update gekomen, en in USA weer?
    Dus heeft Alonso in USA met een motor gereden die 2 versies beter was dan die van Jenson?

      En volgens het stukje krijgt Alonso nu weer een nieuwe motor? Of kwam dat omdat die nieuwe met die update in USA vanwege de problemen in de laatste paar ronden vervangen moet worden?

      Geeft wel aan dat Honda met 200% inzet die motor aan het verbeteren is. Kan Renault een voorbeeld aan nemen.

    zal wel gewoon de bedoeling zijn om de data te kunnen vergelijken.
    dit seizoen is gewoon een "testseizoen" om er vervolgens in 2016 " "te staan".

    maakt dan toch niks uit wie met welke motor rijdt, als ze data maar kunnen vergelijken.
    kunnen dit jaar toch niet meekomen, waarom dan niet testen en bouwen aan goede motor voor volgend jaar.

      Cheyenne, vanuit het oogpunt van Honda zul je gelijk hebben! Maar voor McLaren geld zo goed mogelijk presteren en hopen nog een aantal puntjes bij elkaar te sprokkelen wat erg veel geld in het laadje brengt. Door de mindere/slechte prestaties van McLaren staan de sponsoren niet meer in het rijtje en is voor hun iedere punt kassa.

    Jaja, slechts 4 motoren per seizoen, dat moet F1 wat goedkoper maken. Mhah! Ik denk niet dat motoren ooit zo duur zijn geweest dan dat ze nu zijn.
