Perez bereid om gok te nemen voor podiumplaats

Sergio Perez pakte een aantal weken geleden op het Sochi Autodrom zeer verrassend een podiumplaats in de Force India. De Mexicaan kon naar het podium rijden dankzij een goed uitgepakte gok met de strategie. Perez rijdt vandaag zijn thuisrace op het circuit Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City en is bereid een gok te nemen als daarmee een podiumplaats behaald kan worden.

De race wordt voor alle teams een stap in het onbekende. Met de kans op regen kan het een onvoorspelbare race worden. Perez denk dat er wel eens gekke dingen kunnen gebeuren en dit zou voor de Mexicaan kunnen betekenen dat een gokje wellicht een podiumplaats oplevert onder het oog van 100.000 dolenthousiaste racefans. Perez over zijn strategie voor de race: "Ik neem iedere gok die ik kan nemen. Ik heb alles te winnen en niets te verliezen. Ik draai tot nu toe een heel goed seizoen en wat het resultaat ook mag zijn morgen doet daar niets aan af. Deze race is erg belangrijk voor mij, ik ga uiteraard mijn uiterste best doen!"

Door de kans op regen en het gebrek aan grip die het asfalt heeft zal de race volgens Perez geen 'business as usual' worden. Volgens Perez zijn er veel onzekere factoren die een rol gaan spelen in de race. "Er zijn veel dingen nog niet bekend over deze baan. We hebben niet veel informatie betreffende de lange runs, aangezien we die reden in vochtige condities op vrijdag. Ik verwacht in de race veel verrassingen. Het wordt een zware race voor mens en machine. Ik denk dat we een paar mooie gevechten gaan zien", besluit Perez.

Perez laat je dragen door het publiek en geef de Mexicanen iets om te juichen en trots op te zijn. Er is al genoeg stront in dat land met die enorme kartels en onthoofdingen en verdwenen studenten. Geef ze maar voor een keer dat jaar gewoon geluk. Mijn zegen heb je!

Ik snap dat hij wil stralen voor zijn thuispubliek. Maar als hij niet oppast wordt het niet stralen, maar falen.

Beter met enig beleid rijden en met punten over de finish komen dan onverantwoorde risico's nemen en huilen in een auto die totaal aan gort ligt...
