Mercedes huldigt kampioenen met Stars & Cars

Mercedes organiseert eind dit jaar opnieuw Stars & Cars. Het is voor de Duitse autofabrikant de manier om het autosportseizoen af te sluiten en de kampioenen van het merk te vieren. Op 12 december tovert Mercedes de Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart om tot verkapte racebaan voor een soort Race of Champions in het klein. Kaarten kosten 5 euro per stuk.

Mercedes-motorsportbaas Toto Wolff: "Voor de Stars & Cars van dit jaar hebben we het bestaande format gepakt en daar wat elementen aan toegevoegd, zoals echte races en interactie met de fans. Mercedes heeft een bijzonder jaar op de circuits in de diverse series meegemaakt en dat willen we nu delen met het publiek, midden in Stuttgart."

"Vorig jaar kregen we veel positieve feedback van bezoekers die het mooi vonden om de sterren en de actie van dichtbij te bewonderen. Mercedes-Benz is erg actief op social media en we gaan onze fans via die kanalen betrekken bij Stars & Cars. Zo kunnen fans bepalen wie als gastcoureurs aan het evenement mee mogen doen."

    En waarom ik dat vind?

    De zelfverheerlijking druipt er vanaf, maar we noemen het niet zo, we pompen achterlijk veel geld in de nieuwe motor en kloppen onszelf op de borst dat we het zo goed gedaan hebben en knijpen onze klantenteams de elektronica af, zoals Ferrari Sauber laat bungelen en volgend jaar Haas denkt met dezelfde specificatie als Ferrari te rijden, ja dat kan fysiek welzo zijn, maar softwarematig lekker begrensd worden of de engineers lagere maxima te laten geloven dan je eigen team.

    Er zit een mentaliteit achter die typisch iets duits is.

    En dit is mijn mening, wat ik ervan vind/denk
