Lobby korter raceweekend vergaart momentum

Steeds meer stemmen gaan op om een Grand Prix-weekend in te korten. Nico Hülkenberg vond al dat er te veel getraind werd in de Formule 1, terwijl Kimi Raikkonen en Felipe Massa pleitten voor een tweedaags raceweekend. Oud-coureur Mika Salo sluit zich daar nu bij aan.

Salo verkondigt op de Finse zender MTV: "Ik ben het helemaal eens met Kimi en Felipe. De vrijdag is toch nutteloos. De monteurs en engineers klagen dat het onmogelijk is om een privéleven te onderhouden als je werkzaam bent in de Formule 1. Bij een tweedaags Grand Prix-weekend heeft het personeel in elk geval een extra dag om met hun familie door te brengen."

"Ja, de teams hebben profijt van het rijden op de vrijdag, maar ze maken misbruik van de situatie. Als je kan rijden, dan wil je ook rijden. Stel dat de vrijdag weg zou vallen, ik denk niet dat je iemand daar dan over zal horen klagen."

Ik vind dat we ook maar toe moeten naar een 4 daags werkweek kan ik ook een dag langer bij de fam zijn . Kom op zeg ze zijn toch niet verplicht te werk gesteld in de F1 dat weet je als je er aan begint

    Dikke middelvinger naar de fans, maakt niets uit. Verkoopprijzen van de tickets zullen vast hetzelfde blijven. Circuits zullen vast hetzelfde bedrag moeten blijven betalen aan Ecclestone want hij neemt geen genoegen met minder. Dus ach, er zal vast niemand over klagen :-)...

    Eigenlijk wel raar he... ze willen meer kunnen testen, maar ze vinden we dat ze "teveel trainingen hebben". Gebruik die trainingen dan als verkapte test.
    Niettemin kan er wat mij betreft wel eens kritisch gekeken worden naar de raceweekenden, maar wel rekening houdend met de toeschouwer en de sport en niet alleen eigen belangen.

    Leg dit dan maar uit aan de teams die elke km kunnen gebruiken om te testen , neem nu Mclaren nu , of volgende jaar Renault , Haas. team... en elke starter nadien...

    Een dag langer bij je familie is ook nonsence reden. Ze reizen bij bi weekly en back-to-back races toch van circuit naar circuit dan gaan ze echt niet even langs het land van herkomst. Daar verandert een ingekort weekend niets aan. Dan zitten ze zich alleen maar een dag langer te vervelen in het hotel of ze zijn op het circuit op vrijdag als nog druk bezig met de auto's.

    Als opa Kimi en Massa eens op zouden houden met racen en dat aan coureurs met een beetje uithoudingsvermogen over gaan laten. Blijkbaar kunnen die oudjes geen volledig raceweekeinde aan. Tijd om te stoppen dus en iets anders te gaan doen. Misschien is kantklossen wat voor die twee. Wat Salo te vertellen heeft boeit werkelijk niemand iets. En het gelul over privéleven van de monteurs e.d raakt ook kant noch wal. Ga dan wat anders doen. Ze krijgen er goed voor betaald en zien wat van de wereld. Er zijn mensen die er heel wat voor over hebben om dat baantje van hun te krijgen. Dus ga werken voor je poen en zwijg. Wij betalen jullie salaris en willen een volledig weekeinde.
