Abu Dhabi is 150ste Grand Prix voor Force India

Het team van Force India heeft dit weekend iets te vieren. Niet alleen sluit de Indiase renstal het seizoen af op een vijfde plaats in het constructeurskampioenschap, de hoogste klassering ooit voor het team, maar Abu Dhabi betekent ook de 150ste Grand Prix van het team onder de naam Force India. Via de nodige omwentelingen komt Force India voort uit Jordan, maar als Force India zijnde is dit het 150ste raceweekend in de Formule 1.

In de voorgaande 149 Grands Prix wist Force India geen enkele keer te winnen. Hoogtepunten uit de geschiedenis van het team zijn de pole position van Giancarlo Fisichella in België 2009 en de drie behaalde podiumplekken; Fisichella op Spa-Francorchamps in 2009, Sergio Perez in Bahrein in 2014 en opnieuw Perez in Rusland in 2015.
