Gridpenalty voor Will Stevens na vervangen elektronica

Will Stevens zal de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi als laatste beginnen. De kleine Brit kwalificeerde zich als voorlaatste, maar Manor Marussia heeft na de kwalificatie besloten de elektronica in zijn auto te verwisselen. Aangezien het de vijfde keer is dat Stevens met nieuwe elektronica rijdt, ontvangt hij een reglementaire gridstraf van vijf plaatsen.

De vijf plaatsen zullen Stevens weinig pijn doen. Manor Marussia bungelt dit seizoen stijf onderaan het veld en het wisselen van motoren, versnellingsbakken en andere componenten die een reglementaire straf opleveren bij het overschrijden van de toegestane limiet deren het kleine Britse team weinig. Door de straf zal Roberto Merhi als negentiende starten en Stevens als twintigste.
