Ferrari met prijs voor snelle pitstops aan de haal

Ferrari is onderscheiden met de DHL Fastest Pitstops Award. Die prijs is dit jaar in het leven geroepen om het belang van teamwork in de Formule 1 te onderstrepen en om de 'vergeten helden' van de pitcrews in het zonnetje te zetten. Ferrari was dit seizoen het vaakst het snelst met de pitstops.

In zeven van de negentien races noteerde de Scuderia de snelste pitstop-tijd. Ferrari verwisselde het snelst de banden in Maleisië, China, Bahrein, Spanje, Japan, Rusland en Mexico. Red Bull Racing en Mercedes eindigden als tweede en derde met respectievelijk vier en drie snelste pitstops.

Scuderia Toro Rosso was één maal het snelst. In Brazilië stuurde de Italiaanse renstal Max Verstappen bij een van zijn stops na 2,36 seconden alweer op pad. De absoluut snelste pitstop van het jaar staat op naam van Red Bull Racing, met 2,1 seconden voor Daniil Kvyat in Italië.

DHL-directeur Nour Suliman: "De felicitaties gaan uit naar Ferrari, en met name hun pitcrew, voor de constante snelle stops ter ondersteuning van de rijders. In autosport telt elke fractie van een seconde, net als in logistiek. We zijn verguld om Ferrari voor hiervoor te belonen."

Gezien de aantallen keren dat het bij TR verkeerd is gegaan verbaast het me nog dat ze 1 maal de snelste hadden.

Bij Williams was het helemaal huilen; ze konden niet eens vier dezelfde banden op één auto krijgen :D

2,1 sec bij TR is wel indrukwekkend, vind dat ze daar ook een prijs mee verdienen
