Mercedes sluit de rijen na verdraaiing van feiten

Mercedes-motorsportbaas Toto Wolff heeft gereageerd op de verhalen dat hij niet meer door één deur zou kunnen met teampresident Niki Lauda. Begin vorige maand ging het gerucht dat Lauda op zou stappen door onenigheid met Wolff. Die laatste verkondigt nu aan Autosport: "Dat is klinkklare onzin, rotzooi. Iemand probeert een wig te drijven tussen ons."

Wolff vervolgt: "In elke succesvolle organisatie heb je verschillende standpunten en uiteenlopende invalshoeken. Dat geldt niet alleen voor Niki en mij, maar voor alle werknemers. En van tijd tot tijd gaat het er pittig aan toe, met verhitte discussies. Maar we hebben allemaal hetzelfde doel voor ogen, om het team zo succesvol mogelijk te maken, met een goed functionerend platform."

"Ik heb mijn mening over de Formule 1 bijgesteld. Ik was altijd een emotioneel betrokken stakeholder en dacht dat negatieve uitlatingen niet goed voor de sport waren. Maar als je de kranten nu open slaat, dan gaat het nog steeds over de controverses naast de baan. Zo is het altijd geweest, misschien is het wel een onmisbaar deel van de Formule 1."

"Al zijn sommige dingen wel naar een hoger niveau getild. Het lijkt af en toe wel of mensen vergeten dat ze stakeholders of ambassadeurs van deze sport zijn. De verhalen die iedereen leest zijn vaak een verdraaide weergave van de feiten, bijna zo erg dat ze nadelig zijn voor de Formule 1 en een slechte invloed uitoefenen op bezoekersaantallen en kijkcijfers."

Ik ben dan waarschijnlijk één van de weinigen die Tott Wolff wel een goede teambaas vindt. Hij heeft het beste met zijn team voor, treedt naar buiten als hij dat nodig vindt en is nooit te beroerd om e.e.a. nader toe te lichten of juist te ontkennen. Ja, Wolff daar doe jij zelf lekker aan mee. Nog nooit een teambaas zo tv geil gezien. Is ergens een scheet gelaten dan is Wolff erbij.

  Die rook wordt ook vaak gemaakt door de media zelf (vaak het kakelende copy/paste journaille) en dan zeggen dat het ergens brand is wel heel erg simpel.

Nou Wolffie, het probleem is meer dat het te weinig een echte sport is maar meer een tanende show, verstikt door belangen, en waarvan de oorzaken meestal alleen cosmetisch worden aangepakt.

Ik vind het 'camerageile' toneelstukje wat Arrivabene opvoert vaak een stuk gemaakter overkomen dan dat van herr Wolff...

Als Toto vindt, dat er binnen zijn team te weinig ambassadeurs voor de sport zijn, dan moet hij gauw het interview met Max eens bekijken. Een betere ambassadeur is er niet volgens mij

Wanneer de races weinig spanning bieden, dan gaat de focus van de media vanzelf zich richten op buiten de baan. dit is een trent die al een tijd gaande is in de F1.
Iedereen weet dat en realiseert dat, behalve diegene die er echt over gaan..

Hmm.. heb ik het nu over de F1 of over politiek... dat komt misschien wel er tegenwoordig veel overeenkomsten zijn tussen die twee..
Bijde Organisaties die totaal de binding kwijt zijn tussen hun Fans/coureurs(achterban)en waar ze voor staan.
