Albert Costa doet het rustig aan op weg naar de Formule 1

Spanje is een land in opkomst in de Formule 1. Sinds de successen van Fernando Alonso heeft de sport veel aan populariteit gewonnen in het land en dit jaar bevat de grid drie Spaanse coureurs. World Series by Renault-coureur Albert Costa hoopt ooit ook furore te maken in de Formule 1.

Hij heeft geen haast. Ik wil zeker ooit tot de Formule 1 toetreden. Maar ik neem stap voor stap. En als het me niet lukt is dat geen ramp. Ik kan mijn loopbaan altijd in een andere klasse voortzetten. Misschien ben ik al klaar voor de Formule 1, maar eerlijk gezegd wil ik nog een jaar wachten. Ik ben nog jong en wil meer vertrouwen en ervaring opdoen. Wellicht haal ik dan ooit de Formule 1 en ga ik daarin in de aanval.

De Spanjaard rijdt in de World Series by Renault voor Epsilon Euskadi, dat zich aanmeldde voor een Formule 1-startbewijs voor 2011. Ik weet niet of dat mijn kansen vergroot. Eerst moeten ze te weten komen of ze mee mogen doen. Daarna zien we wel. Ik weet dat Epsilon Euskadi heeft wat nodig is om aan de Formule 1 deel te nemen, aldus Costa op F1Pulse.com.
