Massa: "Wordt niet makkelijk om topteams te pakken"

Hoewel Felipe Massa hoopt dat Williams het in 2016 beter gaat doen dan vorig seizoen, geeft hij toe dat het niet makkelijk zal zijn om de topteams te verschalken. Mercedes was de afgelopen twee seizoenen het beste team op de grid. Williams eindigde twee jaar op een rij als derde, met in 2014 Red Bull Racing voor zich op de tweede plaats en in 2015 Ferrari.

Het Williams Formule 1-team doet er alles aan om dit jaar nog beter te zijn, maar Massa geeft toe dat het geen eenvoudige klus is om de top te bereiken. "We zijn het gevecht aangegaan met de grote jongens, maar die teams hebben veel meer geld te spenderen dan wij", geeft Massa toe in gesprek met F1i.

“Als je onze resultaten vergelijkt met die van de topteams en hun budget afzet tegen het onze, dan doen we het gewoon goed, maar we doen wat we kunnen om de top te bestormen. Rob Smedley, Pat Symonds en het complete team van Williams doen alles voor een goed resultaat. Dus we zullen zien waar we dit jaar toe in staat zijn", aldus de Braziliaan.
