Verstappen vermaakt zich bij demo in de sneeuw

Max Verstappen moest vanochtend vroeg opstaan. Op het programma stond vandaag een speciaal optreden. De 18-jarige Nederlander mocht de Red Bull Racing RB7 op zijn staart trappen. Niet op zomaar een locatie, maar bovenop de befaamde Hahnenkamm nabij Kitzbühel. Dat was weer eens iets anders.

"Met een Formule 1-auto door de sneeuw rijden, was erg leuk!", steekt Max van wal tegenover Verstappen.nl. "Het was met min dertien graden wel koud vanmorgen. In mijn race-overall was dat fris. Het was glad en glibberen met de auto en er was niet veel ruimte bovenop die berg. Het leverde wel hele mooie beelden op!"

"Ik moest shortshiften en kon dus niet de hele versnelling gebruiken. Een Formule 1-auto is niet gebouwd om in te sneeuw te rijden en ligt eigenlijk te laag. Maar het ging beter dan verwacht. Een hele donut kon ik niet maken, want dan groef de auto zich in de sneeuw vast. Maar een halve donut lukte wel. Mooi dat er zoveel mensen aanwezig waren, leuk!"
