'Kevin Magnussen breekt met zijn manager'

Kevin Magnussen heeft zich nog maar net verzekerd van een comeback in de Formule 1, maar de Deen staat op het punt om zijn zaakwaarnemer aan de kant te schuiven. Dat meldt BT. Dorte Riis Madsen behartigt momenteel nog de belangen van Magnussen.

Niet voor lang meer, claimt BT. Volgens de Deense krant heeft Riis Madsen nauwelijks een rol gespeeld in de terugkeer van Magnussen in de Formule 1. Ze houdt zich al maanden afzijdig en heeft geen contact gelegd met teams. Magnussen heeft daarom maar het heft in eigen hand genomen en zelf serieus onderhandeld met Haas F1, Manor Racing en Renault.

Anders Holch Povlsen van sponsor Bestseller heeft verder een cruciale rol gespeeld in de rentree van Magnussen, waar Riis Madsen verzaakte. Volgens BT beheerst ze het managen van een Formule 1-coureur niet. Ze vertoonde zich zelden op de circuits of in de paddock, bouwde geen netwerk op en heeft het vak niet onder de knie. Een breuk met Magnussen is dan ook onvermijdelijk.
